September in 2012 the date when i decided that i will see a dietitian. I think that it is important to have a dietitian when you have an ED. It is very usefull. It was for me !
She told a lot of things such as how my body works, and why i need to eat. What could happen if i won't eat. We talked a lot. She made a meal plan for me. That meal plan was made for me. For my needs. So every meal plan can be different!
I remember that i had to write a list about what i like ( food of course ) and what i don't like. And not what i"m afraid of!!! Such as i like almonds, nuts, peanut butter, tomatoe but i don't like caraway- seeds red pepper. Those were examples. :) Than she made a meal plan to me according to the lists. We discussed everything. At first i had to eat 6 times a day. I had to have breakfast than about 2,5 or 3 hours later the snack and so on.
I didn't like to call the meals breakfast, snack, lunch etc. So she recommended that call them " first meal, second meal, third meal" etc.
We talked about exercise as well.
I could call her everytime i need to. I could write e-mails to her everytime.
She told me about that how should my mom cook the food for me. So about the technics. ( boiling, frying etc.) :) And she gave recipes as well ! :)
So haveing a dietitian is very usefull ! And i highly recommend to have one if you have an ED!
